Angelia's Story
The following article tells the story of one patient who is receiving intrathecal drug delivery for the treatment of pain. Medtronic invited this patient to share her story candidly. As you read it, please bear in mind that the experiences are specific to this particular patient. Results vary; not every response is the same.
I was given a Medtronic Pain Pump for my Cancer pain in March of 2004. After many attempts to curb my pain with prescription pain relievers, pain patches, spinal pain blocks nothing seemed to help and I continued to suffer as well as the rest of my family. My doctor suggested that I test to see if I could be given a pain pump by Medtronic.
To make a long story short, after having the pain pump implanted I no longer have pain, and what's even better my cancer is stable and I have been able to get off of my chemo treatments and now I can say that I am a Pancreatic Cancer Survivor and am Living Well thanks to my Lord above and to Medtronic!!
